Vung Tau's Hidden Gem: Lablue's Cozy Seaview Paradise!
Lablue's Cozy Seaview Paradise: My Vung Tau Love Affair (and a Little Bit of Grumbling)
Okay, so let's be real, planning a trip to Vung Tau can feel like navigating a Vietnamese traffic jam – chaotic, exhilarating, and sometimes, a little bit terrifying. But after finally experiencing Lablue's Cozy Seaview Paradise, I can confidently say… it's a diamond in the rough, a hidden gem, a place where you actually feel like you're on vacation. (And believe me, finding that in Vietnam is like finding a clean public toilet. Rare.)
Let's start with the basics, shall we? Because, hey, I'm a practical person.
Accessibility: The Good… and the “Almost Good”
Finding Lablue was easy-peasy, lemon squeezy (okay, maybe not that easy with Vietnamese signage, but close enough!). The location? Stellar. Right on the beachfront, perfect for those sunrise strolls and late-night dips. Accessibility is, generally, pretty good. There’s a lift (thank goodness!), and they say they have facilities for disabled guests. I didn't personally check, so I’m leaving that at a “potential plus.” More on this later – accessibility in Vietnam is often… optimistic.
Internet & Connectivity: Pray for Speed!
Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! Yes! Praise the heavens! The internet itself? Well, let’s just say it’s the kind of Wi-Fi that sometimes makes you question reality. It's a hit-or-miss. Sometimes it's lightning-fast, perfect for streaming and video calls. Other times… well, you might find yourself staring at a spinning wheel of doom. They do offer Internet access – LAN in the rooms, which I didn't try. Just know, if you're a digital nomad relying on seamless connectivity, pack your zen. The Wi-Fi in public areas was generally more reliable, but still, don't bet your life (or your conference call) on it.
Cleanliness and Safety: Feeling Safe, Feeling… Clean!
This is where Lablue truly shines. I was genuinely impressed. Anti-viral cleaning products? Check. Daily disinfection in common areas? Check. Rooms sanitized between stays? Double check. They even had a little sign saying they used professional-grade sanitizing services. I felt genuinely safe, which, in the current climate, is a huge selling point. They've thought about every detail with hand sanitizer readily available and staff trained in safety protocol. You could eat off the floors (okay, maybe I wouldn't actually do that, but you get the idea!). They even offer room sanitization opt-out, which is a lovely touch, showing they value your personal comfort. CCTV in common areas and security [24-hour] made me feel secure, even at odd hours.
Rooms: My Oasis (Mostly!)
My room? Ah, my room… Let's just say that it was quite well-appointed. My room was in a non-smoking room with an additional toilet. Air conditioning blasted cool air. You get the essentials: Air conditioning, alarm clock, bathrobes, bathroom phone, bathtub, black-out curtains (essential!), carpeting, closet, coffee/tea maker, complimentary tea, daily housekeeping, desk, extra long bed, free bottled water, hair dryer, high floor, in-room safe box, interconnecting room(s) available, internet access – LAN, internet access – wireless, ironing facilities, laptop workspace, linens, mini bar, mirror, non-smoking, on-demand movies, private bathroom, reading light, refrigerator, safety/security feature, satellite/cable channels, scale, seating area, separate shower/bathtub, shower, slippers, smoke detector, socket near the bed, sofa, soundproofing, telephone, toiletries, towels, umbrella, visual alarm, wake-up service, wi-fi [free], window that opens. I loved my extra long bed. The soundproofing was a godsend, blocking out the inevitable street noise. The slippers were fluffy, the complimentary tea was welcome, and the slippers were so comfortable, and were in a nice non-smoking room with a nice view. In-room safe box was appreciated, and although the rooms are not that big, everything fits. It was bliss.
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking: Food, Glorious Food! (Mostly)
Now, food is a big deal for me. This is Vietnam, after all! Let's just say the food at Lablue was decent, not spectacular, But the options are truly extensive, they have Breakfast [buffet], Buffet in restaurant, Coffee/tea in restaurant, Desserts in restaurant, Poolside bar, Restaurants, Room service [24-hour], Snack bar, Soup in restaurant, Vegetarian restaurant, Western cuisine in restaurant. The Asian cuisine in restaurant, International cuisine in restaurant, A la carte in restaurant. I had Asian breakfast every morning, and wasn't disappointed. I'm not a breakfast person, but the service does include Breakfast service, Breakfast in room, and Breakfast takeaway service, which is a great option. They offer a Bottle of water, which is essential, and I had Coffee shop available. I liked the Happy hour with my friends. The most important part is the Safe dining setup
Things to Do & Ways to Relax: Spa Day, Anyone?
Okay, so this is where Lablue really wants to pamper you. I'm not usually a spa person, but they have a Pool with view, Sauna, Spa, Spa/sauna, Steamroom, Swimming pool, Swimming pool [outdoor] - how could you not? And the Massage was fantastic! I mean, absolutely amazing. After a few days of battling the Vung Tau humidity, it was pure bliss. Pure, unadulterated bliss. I even tried a Body scrub which was a new experience for me. My skin felt like silk afterwards. Worth it!
The Fitness center was… well, a bit basic, but functional. They have a Gym/fitness available. If you're a fitness fanatic, don't expect a state-of-the-art gym. The Foot bath was a lovely touch. And the Poolside bar, well, what can I say? Perfect for lounging with a cocktail after the massage.
Services and Conveniences: The Little Things That Matter
Lablue really has thought of everything. Cash withdrawal, Concierge, Contactless check-in/out, Convenience store, Currency exchange, Daily housekeeping, Dry cleaning, Elevator, Essential condiments, Food delivery, Gift/souvenir shop, Indoor venue for special events, Invoice provided, Ironing service, Laundry service, Luggage storage, Meeting/banquet facilities, Meetings, Meeting stationery, On-site event hosting, Outdoor venue for special events, Projector/LED display, Safety deposit boxes, Seminars, Smoking area, Terrace, Wi-Fi for special events, Xerox/fax in business center.
The concierge was incredibly helpful with everything, from arranging taxis to recommending local restaurants. Cashless payment service was a huge plus. The daily housekeeping was impeccable. The laundry service was quick and efficient, although a bit pricey. Facilities for disabled guests, I'm still not completely sure on. The Doorman was also very helpful and friendly.
For the Kids: Family Friendly? Absolutely!
While I didn't have kids with me, I saw plenty of families enjoying themselves. The Babysitting service and there are Kids facilities, Kids meal, Family/child friendly. The staff seemed genuinely friendly towards children, and the pools are perfect for splashing around.
Getting Around: Easy Peasy (But Be Prepared for the Chaos)
Airport transfer arranged by the hotel was a lifesaver. Thank you, Lablue!! Navigating the streets of Vung Tau can be… let's just say, an adventure. They also have Car park [free of charge], Car park [on-site], Car power charging station, Taxi service, Valet parking, Bicycle parking.
The Quirks, the Imperfections (Because No Place is Perfect)
Okay, so here's my brutally honest take. Lablue is not perfect. The Wi-Fi can be temperamental. The breakfast buffet, while decent, isn't exactly Michelin-star material. And sometimes, the service, while generally good, can be a little… Vietnamese. What I mean by this, is it's all done with a smile, but things might take their sweet time, and you'll encounter some language barriers.

Okay, buckle up, buttercups. This isn't your sleek, Instagram-perfect travel itinerary. This is the real deal, a messy, beautiful, and probably slightly hungover chronicle of my trip to Lablue - Simple & Cozy with Seaview in Vung Tau, Vietnam. Prepare for tangents, opinions, and the occasional existential crisis brought on by too much sunshine and cheap beer.
LABLUE LABYRINTH: A VUNG TAU VOYAGE OF QUESTIONABLE SANITY
(Note: Times are approximate. I operate on "Vietnam Time", which means "whenever the hell I feel like it.")
Day 1: Arrival & A Reckoning with Reality (and Cockroaches)
- Afternoon (ish): Landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City. The humidity hit me like a warm, slightly suffocating hug. Took a pre-booked driver (thank god, I'm terrible with public transport) to Vung Tau. The drive! Oh, the drive! Motorbikes EVERYWHERE. A ballet of controlled chaos. I nearly had a heart attack a few times. Seriously, I think I aged a decade in that two-hour ride.
- 4:00 PM (give or take): Arrived at Lablue. First thought? "Wow, minimalist cool. Second thought? 'Is that a cockroach scurrying across the bathroom floor? OH GOD, IT IS.' (Deep breaths). Okay, deep breaths. Embrace the adventure. Embrace the roach." The seaview was amazing, though. Seriously, breathtaking. Immediately started regretting not bringing binoculars.
- 5:00 PM: Checked in. Room was… small, but clean. And that view! I could sit and stare at the ocean forever. The sea calls to me! I'm a mermaid, trapped in a fleshy form! (Okay, maybe I need to eat)
- 6:00 PM: Wandered the beach. Discovered a local "bia hoi" (fresh beer) spot. Ordered a pint and sat, staring at the sunset, letting the salty air and the slightly bitter beer wash over me. Felt a distinct sense of… well, something. Maybe peace? Maybe just exhaustion? No idea, but it was good. And CHEAP.
- 7:30 PM: Dinner at some random seafood place. Ordered WAY too much. Ended up with a mountain of grilled prawns, enough rice for a small village, and a deep-fried something-or-other that I’m pretty sure was a squid’s lost cousin. Delicious, but felt slightly ill afterwards.
- 9:00 PM: Stumbled back to the Lablue. Tried to write in my journal, but my brain was fried. The roach incident haunted me. Kept imagining it crawling on my face. Slept (eventually) in a semi-fetal position, fully prepared for a nightly battle with the insect underworld.
Day 2: Beaches, Booze & a Brush with Culture (Maybe)
- 8:00 AM (maybe): Woke up to blinding sunshine and a mild hangover. Coffee was a must. The balcony became my sanctuary. Coffee, ocean, and the faint sound of motorbikes in the distance. A moment of pure zen. Briefly considered becoming a hermit.
- 10:00 AM: Decided to attempt to explore. Walked to the nearby Back Beach. The sand! The sun! The sheer number of people! It was beautiful, but chaotic. Found a beach bar. (The theme of the trip is, I think, going to be "Finding a beach bar").
- 12:00 PM: Overstayed my welcome. Beers were cold, music was cheesy, and the sun was relentless. Spent a good hour people-watching. Witnessed a proposal (aww!), a kid building a sandcastle the size of a small car, and a guy trying to impress a girl with his (terrible) karaoke skills.
- 1:00 PM: Lunch. Found a little place selling Banh Mi (Vietnamese sandwiches). Ate two. Maybe three. Hard to remember. My stomach is protesting, but my taste buds are ecstatic!
- 2:00 PM: Tried to visit the Vung Tau Christ statue. (Ambitious, I know, considering the amount of beer consumed). The climb! The heat! I started cursing my life choices about halfway up. Eventually, reached the top. The view? Absolutely worth it. Even though my legs felt like jelly. Almost fell off, more then once.
- 4:00 PM: Back at the beach bar. The sea, the sun, the beer… Repeat.
- 6:00 PM: Found the courage to leave the beach, went for a dinner at a restaurant, ordered a very strange dish that, in retrospect, might have been the innards of… something. Let’s just say I’m not sure I’ll be ordering it again. I am now questioning my digestion system again.
- 7:30 PM: Checked out the night Market. Found a souvenir to bring home to my family.
- 8:30 PM: Back at the Lablue. Staring at the ocean. Writing. (Maybe).
Day 3: Day Trip (Almost)
- 9:00 AM: Woken up a little bit earlier. Decided to be more active.
- 10:00 AM: I was supposed to head out for a day trip to a local temple. Got as far as putting my shoes on before deciding I wasn’t up for it. The thought of more heat, more people, more things to do was exhausting. Decided to just chill in the hotel and gaze at the horizon. I needed this. The sea, the sun, and the silence (apart from the occasional motorbike and the crashing waves) were exactly what I needed.
- 12:00 PM: Lunch and more beer.
- 1:00 PM: Went for a long walk.
- 3:00 PM: Finished the second book in the beach.
- 4:00 PM: Headed back to the hotel for a final relaxation. This place makes you feel truly at peace.
- 5:00 PM: Packing. It’s never fun, but it must be done.
- 6:00 PM: Decided to stay one more day.
Day 4: Leaving & Existential Dread (The Sequel)
- 8:00 AM: Another day, another view!
- 9:00 AM: Breakfast.
- 10:00 AM: Last swim. This place has really grew on me.
- 11:00 AM: One last beer.
- 12:00 PM: Check out of the hotel. Goodbye, Lablue.
- 1:00 AM: Last walk around the city.
- 2:00 PM: Lunch.
- 3:00 PM: Drive to the airport. The journey back went smoothly.
- 5:00 PM: Waiting to board the plane back home.
- 6:00 PM: Goodbye Vung Tau.
Final Thoughts:
So, that was it. My messy, beautiful, slightly insane trip to Vung Tau. I didn't conquer any mountains, solve any world problems, or become a better person. But I did see some amazing things, eat some mind-blowing food, and spend a few days staring at the ocean with not much else to do. That, my friends, is a perfectly valid way to spend a vacation. And who knows, maybe next time, I'll actually try to conquer a mountain. Maybe. Or, you know, just find another beach bar. Depends on my mood, really.

Lablue's Cozy Seaview Paradise: Questions You Probably Have (and Some You Didn't Know You Needed to Ask!)
Okay, so Lablue…is it *really* a paradise? I've been burned by "paradise" before…
What’s the actual room situation? Is it cramped? Do you feel like a sardine?
Is the food any good? Because I *need* good food. Like, if the food is bad, game over.
How's the atmosphere? Is it a party hostel or a peaceful getaway? Because sometimes I just want to be left alone with my existential dread and a book.
What about getting around? Is it walkable to everything, or am I stuck with taxis and motorbikes?
Okay, tell me something *bad* about Lablue. Not everything is perfect, right?
Is it kid-friendly? I'm traveling with my… well, my very *active* children.
Should I book it? Seriously, just tell me. Am I going to regret it?
